Cygnus Ultrasonic Thickness Gages
MULTI-MODE ULTRASONIC THICKNESS GAUGE
Cygnus Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges all measure using the Multiple-Echo Technique for accurate error-checked metal thickness. This uses multiple pulses, providing verified thickness readings and allowing coatings up to 0.787 inches thick to be ignored. Our UT thickness tester range now includes several PLUS+ models which also feature Single-Echo and Echo modes for measuring extreme corrosion and pitting. Our measuring modes page provides guidelines on the use of each measuring mode. The Surface range of thickness gages includes Intrinsically Safe for potentially explosive environments; Hands-Free; large LCD display, linear data logging, simple menu operation; and the PRO with comprehensive data logging, A-Scan, and B-Scan for professional users. The Subsea range of thickness gages consists of the wrist-mounted DIVE and the handheld Underwater thickness gages; ROV mountable series for use on small, medium to large ROVs with optional probe handling solutions. Manufactured in the UK, and are built to last (3-year warranty).

- Multiple-Echo mode uses three error checked back wall echoes to provide the most reliable and accurate remaining thickness measurements, with no need to remove coatings (up to 20mm/0.8 in thick). Single-Echo mode is ideal for measuring uncoated metals with heavy front and/or back-wall corrosion. Also effective on a range of cast metals, plastics and composites. Echo-Echo mode works best for measuring heavily corroded metals through thin coatings of up to 1mm/0.04in thick, ideal for measuring painted metals with heavy back wall corrosion.
